2022-23 Instructional Schedules for GMS and RHHS
March 25, 2022
Dear Students, Families, and Staff Members,
I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying the first few days of spring. I am writing today to update you on some important information regarding Griswold Middle School (GMS) and Rocky Hill High School (RHHS).
Last night, the Board of Education met regarding the daily instructional schedules for both GMS and RHHS. After careful consideration of a number of factors, the Board voted unanimously to restore the pre-pandemic schedules for both the middle school and the high school, beginning with the first day of the 2022-23 school year on September 1, 2022. Hence, GMS will return to the 8-period instructional day and RHHS will return to the 9-period instructional day. Students will attend each of their classes on a daily basis as opposed to the current block schedules where classes are held on an every-other-day basis for longer time periods. Importantly, the decision to return to the traditional schedules is strongly supported by the vast majority of the teachers at both schools.
Best wishes for a terrific weekend.
